Default Just bought Dr. Barnard's book

I just bought this book and am curious about it.
1. Very low fat - no animal products milk cheese etc.
2. Low GI
3. Take a vitamin supplement
4. Another consideration is to add volumetrics to the mix.

One thing I read in the book said you should divide your plate into four areas. One for low gi carbs, one for beans (or other protein foods) and the other two for fruits and vegitables.

Perhaps, if you did this you would limit carbs enough that your fat cleansed cells could handle them. I would still like to hear from those who have followed this diet program "TO THE LETTER."

It's nice that you cared enough to join us, Grif, but there aren't too many people around here who accept anyone else's orders quite as seriously as "to the letter". We are sentient adults who have learned all too well in the diabetes wars that each of us is completely individual, and must work out our own best eating plans for controlling our blood sugar.

If you are diabetic & trying to work out your diet, please tell us more about yourself. Go to the introductions board and start a new thread.

If you are here to preach Neal Barnard's quackery, then go peddle your papers somewhere else, because this thread is closed.
