I've never been a snacker, but all of the above plus deviled eggs, cream cheese with celery or on an Optimist's cracker or pb on same...depends on where I am what I choose. I always carry nuts when I'm in the car going somewhere...or cheese sticks or both...

I rarely eat snacks, but when I do, it's a slice of cheese, or some nuts - pecan, almond, walnut, or macadamias from my own tree.

Biltong (jerky to you) but fatty, macadamias, avocado, cheese, yogurt. Macadamias and avocados are local so cheap and fresh. Feel sorry for the people in Europe as the prices for them here are high - although with the economy hurting there the prices the farmers here are getting is a lot lower and they are struggling.

They're dropping off the tree at the moment, so I have to be careful to do a thorough check before mowing. The mower throws them a long way, and those hard shells really hurt when a broken edge hits you on the shin.

The downside to having a tree is that the nuts are so hard to get out of the shell. And also, because they are native to this area, I lose most of them because the grubs get into the flowers. In places like Hawaii, there are no grubs.
