Default Zoodles - hurray

I bought a spiral slicer this week and gave the spiraled zucchini a try. Oh my gosh! This is great. I'm not much of a fan of zucchini, although I eat it, but I have to say making them into noodles topped with spaghetti sauce is fantastic. I cooked them a bit to soften, and was surprised that they didn't go all mushy right away - was able to keep them fairly firm.

I'm SO ready for new menu items and this hits the spot. Next try will be a zoodle salad - when I next get another zucchini.

FYI - I bought a crank operated model which is easier for me with my weak hands. Spiralife Pro - Vegetable Spiral Slicer. This company also makes a hand-held version - a sort of tube that you place the vegetable inside and then rotate the vegetable inside the device with your hand.

I like zoodles and will try them with spaghetti sauce next time. I usually saute them with onions and a little garlic.
