Strawberries

I thought I read somewhere , that strawberries were good for diabetics to eat .

So I have been eating a good size plastic tub of them in 2 meals , half one day and the rest the second day .

And my sugar levels have gone from 157 to 447 over night .

Now you know. "They" say all kinds of things about all kinds of foods supposedly good for diabetics. You can only trust your meter. It will tell you the truth.

You could, however, probably handle one or two or three strawberries at a time. Your meter will tell you if you can.

"They" also say oatmeal is good for diabetics.... not so for most diabetics, unless they only wanted to eat two tablespoons at a time!

I think I miss oatmeal more than anything.

Yup - I can eat strawberries but I only have like 2 of them not a full bowl or anything. Fruit is very tricky to measure as it doesn't always have a consistent carb and sugar measure. Depending on how ripe it is, when it was harvested and the weather conditions during the growing season - those nutrient levels will fluctuate.

Have you tried Blue Berries yet? I found they have less of an affect than strawberries but then again I'm talking like a handful - no added whip cream sugar or anything like that.

rs, Land O Lakes makes a whipped cream with zero carbs. It's not bad.
