Default Lookee what I did!

I liked Paula Deen's FaceBook page and left this message:

Paula, please read Blood Sugar 101 and then give us your expertise with some ideas to use those diabetic foods that we can have safely. I'm T2 and on no meds (Yet) with A1C now of 5.0 from 6.9, so her plan works.

What They Don't Tell You About Diabetes.

If she doesn't, at least maybe some will see it and be curious!

I'm wondering why it took me so long to think of it. She gets a lot of hits, so it should reach many people!

I just looked again and now it's gone, but it was there for about 15 minutes. They must not like it! Oh, well, I tried!

Makes me mad as Hell...censorship by whom?

Well, since I would be checking on it, too, that makes sense!

You, go girl. I think it is fantastic. You never know maybe she will go to it and get some new insight. As we all know , diabetic meds like Victoza only work so long if you are not adjusting your diet and exercise.

I hope other diabetics following her page read the website if they haven't already. My grandfather (Type 2) and mother (pre-diabetic) both just think managing diabetes is about eating 'less' of the same food they always ate. While that helps, both my grandfather and mom keep putting on weight, feeling hungry, and binging on a lot of the higher-carbohydrate foods they say they limit, like fruit, potatoes, corn, and bread. They always start out intending to have 1/2 of a potato or 1 slice of bread, and by the end of the day, it's a sandwich, toast, and whole baked potato with corn on the cob and rice. I've thought about getting "Blood Sugar 101" or LC books for them both, but they're just so unwilling to hear what I'm saying that I think it'd come off pushy and judgmental.
