As for testing, you may consider buying a Walmart Relion meter to suppliment what your insurance will pay for. The meter was $9 (at least is was last year) and the strips are 100 for $40.

So far no soda or potato chips for me. They are raising my blood sugar high.

I got a Relion meter and I will use it. The price seems pretty low for the strips as apposed to the higher priced meters. The doctors office gave me a Contour, but I looked at the test strips at Walmart and they are very high. Thank goodness they gave me 50 strips which I have 31 left. I will buy the Relion strips when I run out of the Contours.

Oh I can understand the dew problem. Lol
I was basically mainlining it. Lol

Diet Dew is pretty good, not quite a sweet but still has a good dew taste.

Lol, I don't know if you know this commercial from a while ago. But I "get the bare foot feeling" a lot, lol

The circumstances in which you eat a carb matters a lot too. If you woke up and ate two slices of toast you might spike. But if you ate them along with a nice cheesy omelet, you might not.

I ate an apple turnover because I was so hungry before supper. BG spiked to 9.1. The next day I ate one after a steak supper, BG never went over 5.8. And believe you me I was testing a LOT.
