Default Dodged a bullet, perhaps?

My friends took me out for sushi tonight and while I ate a lot of protein, I did have some rolls with white rice. My 2hr was 7.8. Not that I am going to make a habit of eating that many carbs but encouraging, since I had a reading over the holiday over 10.

Jormantha,

Protein in excess turns to sugar in the end as well - your ideal eating out trick is to swap out carbs for fat.

As you say, you dodged the bullet a bit this time (only 1 mmol/L high at two hours) although if you'd taken a three hour figure you might have been a bit disappointed.

Restaurant eating is always going to be difficult - particularly on things like sauces, so unless you want to become a hermit - and who does? - you are frequently going to get caught in this trap. Well done for keeping it down as much as you did.

By "lots of protein" I should clarify - in comparison to rice.
