haha I love the dodgy repute bit. he often comes to SA and he doesnt drive me as dotty as some nutritionists or dieticians do. 'eat tomatoes, dont eat it. eat potatoes, dont it, jump off a tree'. they drive one nuts. but yeah, he loves recommending all those supplements and Im on one my doc recommended Multivit plus. Patrick H just seemed easier to listen to. so I latched onto him. But nobody knows better than we do, who are experiencing it. Hence my appreciation for this site.

As far as carbs go, we all have different tolerances and have to create our own individual diets. Every so often I try to add fruits back in my diets and always get the same results. I feel guilty because we all have been taught the benefits of fruit. I don't get an immediate spike but see my overall bgs rise, way out of range.
I have researched quite a bit on LC fruits, so I have cut back since this thread started on what fruits I used to eat. and thank goodness for that. Peaches, pears, berries, oranges, small aplle (big one is 9 carbs) watermelon. So I only eat a little of each. very limiting. I felt just like you. that each day is just another one to drag myself around and also felt carrying anything was just too heavy. I also felt old and listless and also felt as though I had aged a lot. Whats wrong with these docs. Can they not recommend the alternative eating plan. My cholesterol is 'normal' just under 5 according my doc. So why should I stay on it. I cannot be more thankful for this site.

There are several reasons for tiredness. Sleep apnea can be a big one. With sleep apnea, you go through the motions of sleep, but are constantly awaking from deep sleep, so you really don't sleep. Other medications, "will cause drowsiness...", too much insulin will cause drowsiness and weight gain...
