I am on the fence about the GABA, but I have told my niece about it for stress/anxiety reasons. She has also been researching it for herself. However, she is beginning to wean from breast-feeding her son, so I don't think she wants to take anything until he is off the breast for good.
Just out of curiosity what was the type of magnesium and the dose? Magnesium oxide, milk of magnesia and some other formulations can cause diarrhea but magnesium citrate at 400-600mg / day (potentially split into 2 doses) is reported to be well tolerated by most people.
