I believe if small changes do nothing, then go bigger. My bg has been running too high to suit me the last 2-3 weeks. I quit taking cough syrup and meds for this crud first of this week to see if that would help since it really jumped up when I went to sugar free robitussin. Didn't help. Now I've cut out the unsweetened cocoa in my coffee 3 days ago, started the metformin back night before last, and bought a bike yesterday for more strain than I get from walking. This morning, a 94 (5.2)

Too soon for the met to be working yet, think I've been off it for a couple of months. Guess I'll see what next couple of days brings to speculate any more.

73 (4.05) this morning, 74 (4.1) last night at bedtime.

Air quality is still Hazardous! I have to go out today and am dreading it!!

Moon, unfortunately my tickets can't be changed. Add to that it was really hard to coordinate everyone's schedules for next week, no way it can be changed now. I am thinking maybe I should take a small trip somewhere though....... just thinking.

Eibhilin, I don't know if it is a new fire up your way or if some of the smoke from here is going up the valley and dumping out on you. I hope you don't get it as bad there as it is here.

103. I finally lowered it after battling from 480 to 368 . I thought I could liwer it with diet only and no medication but I finally realized I Have to help my body. Now I have been exercising regularly for 3 months and lost about 22 pounds. Learning how to eat healthy...

Boy did I learn a lesson about lots of carbs in the morning today!!! I just felt like yogurt (1/2 c) and blueberries frozen (1/4 c) today so that's what I had plus 2 cups of coffee w/4TB of HWC and 3TB of CO divided between them. When I added them up as I was eating it was a total of 14.2 net carbs! Yikes! my breakfasts are usually under 7 as low as 1 or 2 net carbs, I did have 10 once a couple of weeks ago w/no problem.

Well, I didn't get the before reading until after a few bites (when I saw how many carbs, I thought I should watch it.......before was 96, 1 hr after was 136 Holy S***!! haven't seen a number like that in many months! I jumped on the elliptical for 20 minutes and at 2 hrs after it was 123. Still way too high for my liking! Finally at 3 hrs after I was back on target with an 88. My pp's for breakfast are usually in the 70's and 80's, this really freaked me out!!

I can eat the yogurt, sometimes with the berries as my evening snack and have no problems at all. Guess I just re-proved that carb loading my breakfast is a VERY BAD idea!!
I have a question , I'm new at this. But isn't 67 too low? Is it normal? I was all excited bevause I had 103.

that's how I feel Lupita and am interested in the response. I'm very happy with anything less than 130 at this point!

67 is basically normal - it only feels low to people who have been running high for a long time, because our bodies get used to the high levels, and start acting all weak & sick when we experience normal levels. There is no need to treat a 67 unless you want to have a piece of cheese or a handful of nuts, while you sit down to get your wits about you. You can always continue testing to make sure you aren't dropping lower, but anything above 55 - 60 is just a nice low number - not a hypo 'low'.

BloodSugar101 goes into this at some length, so if you have time, go spend a couple hours prowling around her site & you'll come away a lot smarter about diabetes than when you went there!

And Lupita? you have every right to be excited - any time we get down around 100 is cause for celebration! You guys keep up the good work!
