FWIW, Mary, I can't eat carbs to speak of for breakfast. I broke my own rule and had a small tomato with my 3 HB eggs this morning and I'll see what it does, but normally more than 3 carbs in the morning will set me off for the day.

If I can remember, I'm going to check it in one hour.

Well, for two days now I've stayed under my current goal of 200. Went to 180 after dinner. I used a new bbq sauce that's supposed to be low carb & sugar free. While it may have been, it sent me to 180. At least it's under my 200 target goal. I figure I'm going to try & get 10 days at my goal and then try to drop my target to being under 180 for the next several days. Little by little, and I am weeding out anything that sends me up. I'm also still titrating metformin for the next 4 weeks.

What were the ingredients in the new bbq sauce?

Sugar Free BBQ Sauce Ingredients: Cider Vinegar, Water, Paprika & Other Spices, Sea Salt, Onion Powder, Dehydrated Garlic, Xanthan Gum, Natural Hickory Smoke Flavor, Garlic Powder, Citric Acid, Steviol Glycosides with Rebaudioside A (SG-RS) (Stevia), and not more than 0.5% Silicon Dioxide added to prevent caking.

** Instead of typing the ingredients, I copied it directly from where I bought it. Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/Sugar-Gluten-Friendly-Atkins-Diabetics/dp/B00B2B7DCY/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1368308675&sr=8-5&keywords=low+carb+bbq+sauce
It has 1 carb per serving, which is 2 tablespoons, & I had a total of 2 servings on my steak. I know the ingredients look terrible, I just wanted something different to have on my steak.

Then the villain apparently wasn't the bbq sauce! I do, however, find it peculiar that a liquid sauce requires silicon dioxide to prevent caking . . . whazzup with that?

okay, in my defense, I never said it was healthy or that I even read the ingredients before I bought it. (I know, I know better). I saw that it was one I never tried and I haven't tried one for a while, so I figured it would be something different. It actually was pretty good, but certainly wasn't worth the 180. At least this time I know what caused it. Two days ago, I ate a wrap and was 255 & it's these times that don't frustrate me as much because at least I know why. It's the times I have breakfast with standard LC food and end up at 170 or have a steak with butter & a small LC salad (oil for dressing) and end up at 220 that drive me absolutely insane. Seeing less of those. On day two with no numbers over 200. Praying for a streak of 10 before I drop my goals below 200. <I can do this, I can do this ...>
