I found that metformin has side effects and they are, abdominal cramping, diarrhea, headaches and weakness . Now I know why I feel the way I do.

Debbie,

Are you on the extended release? I'm taking metformin extended release and haven't had any side effects. If you're not, ask to be switched to it.

Not sure what thw name of it is but when i get to my desk i will be sure to come back and mention the name of it

I wouldn't deal with the side effects until June, personally. You may want to just call & ask if they can switch you to the extended release, if you're not on it.

There is no "insulin" shot that helps you lose weight. There are some other injected drugs that that can help with losing weight and keeping BS steady, but insulin isn't one of them

Glp -1 makea the pancreas produce insulin to lower bg. Decreases production of glucogon and signals the liver to release glucose. This drug often leada to weight loss because it slows the rate of food bein digested in the stomach allowing yiu to feel full longer also sending a messageto the brain that you are not hungry. I found thia in the diabetes self management magazine. In the category receptor agonists. So ya maybe its not an insulin its a receptor. Worth a try for me. Im gonna ask about.

Coarse i found out that eating broccoli, peppers, and mushrooms are also slow rate foods that the stomach releases the sugar in steady doses. Nuts do the same.
