Default Overseas Travel

Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I debated between here and "Diabetes General."

I'll be spending about 24 days traveling overseas next month to Hong Kong, South Korea and Thailand. This will be my first trip with the Lantus pen, and I am seeking any and all advice that members with overseas travel experience can give me about airport security, when to take my once-daily (bedtime) does as I adjust to a time zone half a day away, etc. I've bought a Frio bag to at keep my Lantus at a steady temperature and plan to take some food with me -- which I've never done before in extensive overseas travels -- to help me avoid most of the rice and noodles I will inevitably be served at meals.

Any other advice?

Some quick tips
- Trial and error is the way to start
- Speak to your Dr if you are nervous
- Bring snacks

I travel with a pump now but I did about 8 Australia - UK return trips and survived to tell the tale
Good Luck
