Okay I probably should just leave well enough alone. It is Monday, my blood sugar was 174 this morning (!), and from Cauliflower and cabbage, not a major pig-out, and certainly not Hostess snack cakes .... and, we know I have antibodies and am not a straightforward Type 2.

But what do you say when someone tells you all the carbs they can eat on their "miracle, grain-free vegan diet," that "reversed" (at least not CURED) their Diabetes?

Just had to gripe. I just told her well, that is great, I was there a couple years ago, I hope it keeps working for you. But I could not help feeling like Eeyore.

Do what I do; don't argue and lie if necessary to shut them up. Then, continue to pursue your own wellness in private with people who help you find solutions for you as opposed to foisting theirs on you.

I'd be sorely tempted to ask them to show me the evidence on which they based their "reversal".

I'd want to see something like a new improved HbA1c, a couple of months worth of blood glucose results, but perhaps all they had was the assurances of their "guru" that they were a whole lot better.

But then, I'm a miserable old cynic!

On the other hand, as CDB suggests, perhaps a quiet smile and leave them to it would be the easier option.

Like talking to a brick wall -- she posted her weight and cm girth loss.

I just replied, oh, gee, that is terrific. I bet most of us here have lost that much as we improved our lifestyles.

That last post ... she was not responding AT ALL to what I said. I am betting she was a shill for the vegans again. SIGH. Dead fish, it is. <<<<THWACK!>>>>

I treat those people like the man that sells subscriptions to the Sunday news paper. Hey, you need the Sunday paper, no I already got one. I never had a news paper delivered to me. Sometimes its just easier to just smile and nod than to squat and grunt.

Well bless her heart.

I like CDB's advice. But especially this phrase: pursue your own wellness. Your OWN wellness. Miss Miracle Cure may think she's being helpful and supportive, but she fails to grasp the most basic thing about D: we're all different.
