but have actually done that quite a bit for the last couple of days so perhaps I should settle for a good cry and a hug Saw the rheumy on Tuesday and got a few cortisone injections which were much longed for. Unfortunately I'm not doing well enough on the methotrexate even though I'm on the maximum dose and he wants me to up the oral cortisone dose as soon as the effect of the shots wear off and adjust my insulin accordingly. I just don't know what to do, my aim was to be able to come off the cortisone alltogether - on the other hand, if the cost for a perfect bg is crippling myself it's just not worth it
Rant over.

My ex-BF has RA so I have a pretty good idea of what you are going through. He was maintaining on prednisone and sulfasalazine, with some tramadol for pain as needed.
Unfortunately he had a bad fall and suffered a compression fracture in his back which paralyzed him. After a few months they sent him to a hospital to have back surgery, and then home with his daughter. During the time he was in the hospital for the back surgery, and for several months afterwards, he was not being given his RA meds. Now, even though they claim the back surgery was successful, he cannot stand on his legs. This was long after he and I broke up, or I would have made sure he got his RA meds.
So I know how important it is that you keep taking your RA meds. I know it is a fine line there, trying to balance your insulin against the effects of the cortisone. You have my sympathy.

Gretchen

Have you looked into Biopuncture. Wife has had some pretty horrendous pain in the knees and upper neck area that have been completely elliminated thru Biopuncture injections. Worth a look, I thought I saw on the web some places in Sweden offering this procedure. Sorry to hear your having such a hard time.

Go ahead, fenix, mild profanity is allowed here, since we're all adults , but I think hugs and a good cry might help more. It gets mighty tiresome living between a rock & a hard place. ((((fenix))))

Sorry you are having such a rough time. I just went through a yelling, screaming, crying, cursing mood today so I know how you feel.
