Default My baby Granddaughter

Thank you for all your prayers. I am home from Poplar Bluff, Mo. for a few days and taking care of my grandson while my daughter continues to stay in the hospital with baby hannah. Right now they are waiting on the cultures, thinking it is MRSA and Growning Staph.
Poor thing, her IV slipped out twice and they tried 7 times to find veins to support the IV with antibiotics/fluids. They weren't able to so she has gone without since lastnight. The anitibiotics are of the utmost importance in fighting the infection. So I am sure this is going to set them back. I do NOT want them to do the arterial line in the neck--continue please to pray that they won't have to. My daughters stress level is high but she is hanging tough. (Her husband recently was in a motorcycle accident and is at home recuperating) Please pray that she can get some sleep, as she has only had about 4 hours in the last 3 days. Our main concern right now is keeping the infection from spreading. The pediatrician isn't sugar coating anything and has been straight forward with us. The objective is to keep it from spreadig to her eyes causing blindness and eventually reaching the brain resulting in death. I know I am unloading right now but believe in the power of prayer and ask that you please join us in prayer over the situation. Thank you everyone.

Ranita you and your g'daughter are in my thoughts and prayers.
I wish the little one a successful and speedy recovery. I hope your daughter will find the rest she desperately needs.

There is nothing in the world worse than when one's kids are hurting.
I went through a terrible time with my son last year, when he was operated on 4 times in less than two weeks for a botched appendix operation.

My very best wishes to you and your family.

Oh my, you all are going through a tough time. Goodness, I remember spending a week at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City when my middle daughter was sick. One of the worst weeks of my life.
I hope and pray that they are able to restore your darling grandbaby to good health. I hope your daughter can get some sleep soon to keep her strong.

I will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for coming to update us, Ranita, and will continue to support you & your family in prayer.

I will say, though, that the installation of a port to deliver the vital meds would be my choice. Every minute she goes without the antibiotics is a minute when the bacteria multiplies and strengthens. These staph and MSRA bacteria are already resistant, so it's a race to the finish line developing new antibiotics to combat them.

Thank you all for the kind words and prayers!
Praise Report:
Just when things are at the lowest God gives us hope! The pediatrician came in today and confirmed it is MRSA and the Growing Staph. He assessed her face which was black, then a deep purple and Ta Da--today it is red. The massive swelling has gone down and it just looks a bit puffy now. The open sore has healed over, so no oozing anymore. He felt she had enough of the antibiotic IV. So now she is on a massive dose of oral antibiotics which she will have to take for three months. They sent her home late this afternoon. Before she went home, the entire house had to be sterilized. Then when she got home she secluded Hannah and resterilized the house. Maybe tonight she will be able to get some rest. Again I am thankful for my online friends who care enough to take time out to pray for others!!!

~~ Ranita ~~

What a fantastic turn-around. OMG what a terrible thing for Hannah to go through! Sounds like they have found an antibiotic that works for her. I am so glad that she was able to go home. Maybe Mom can get some sleep now. Our continued thoughts and prayers for her complete recovery.
