I LIKE that - carbohydrate allergy!!!!!!! It would prevent the automatic knee jerk reaction that peeps often have to "diabetes". They might actually stop, think, wonder, and ask questions!!!!!

Sorry to hack the thread but the emotion is fitting for me.

Got my blood work back today. It was taken the Friday before thanksgiving.

A1c was 5.2. Ok there. Right about what u was estimating.

TCH. 235!! HDL 30, LDL 132 and this one really baffles me...trigs 368!! WTF??? Sad thing is except for trigs there was really no change. Trigs are killing my panel here and I don't get it.

Yes!

Thinking about this, though, I wonder if we'll confuse people by saying carbohydrate. My very educated husband didn't realize that sugar is a type of carbohydrate. (I'm sure he knew in the back of his mind, but didn't think of that when thinking of dietary restrictions.)

So maybe we should say "sugar allergy"?

I choose to say carbohydrate intolerance and it that leads the wrong way, I then say carbohydrate allergy. Since so many people have to watch things like peanuts I've found it very helpful. There's been plenty of information spread about that!

My triglycerides jumped from 212 to 339 last time, even as my total cholesterol dropped from 220 to 164. It was after I'd been on a three-day carb binge. Go figure. I don't let it keep me awake at night, that's for sure.

Don't know whether it's true or not but I read somewhere if you eat low carb and don't eat enough fat, it can raise trigs.

Or maybe a lab error?

I thought lab error since it did not show me being in ketosis even though ketostix show 40-60mg.
