At Trader Joe's, it's called Almond Meal and you usually find it in the nut section, not the baking section.

Someone on one forum, maybe even this one, got a large amount of almonds and ground them himself. If you're interested in trying that, I can look for my post in reply to his.

Oh, haha, I went by traders and saw the meal and was like ugh, no, want the flour omg, too funny. I'm going back there and want to mainly use it for breading instead of baking, ease into the baking later, thanks for clarifying the difference I was like really, why can't they have it here haha!

I have some of the Honeyville flour for use when the finer texture is needed, but I buy 3 lb bags of almonds from Sams, zip them through the Ninja and that's good enough for me on most stuff. I also have a coffee grinder that will give a finer grind, though not quite as fine as the Honeyville. I'll do the first grind in the Ninja, then grind again in the coffee grinder.

A lot of the difference is texture and personal preference. I make pancakes with the Ninja ground almonds and they are I guess for lack of a better term - "grittier" than the ones made with the Honeyville flour, but I like them that way.

Whatever works for you!

Wow, I did a search for Wheat Protein Isolate for Australia, and it is only available from body building places (as a "shake") for up to $100 for three pounds, cheapest about $58. I don't miss baked goods THAT much... Might as well cook with gold dust!

Hmm, kept looking and found one place with $34.95 down to $18.98 for three pounds. But its still FLAVORED, either chocolate or vanilla. What a difference tho to $109 that one place was charging! Also lists 1gm of sugar per serve but does not define "one serve".

Hey Dave... I don't suppose you found a cheap source of Almond meal? I bought some in BiLo and it was hideously expensive, I thought (can't remember exactly what, something like $10 for 500gm). If I cant find a cheap source locally, I think I am going to be doing without, or having wheat flour sparingly or something.
