Default i gave up sweets for Lent oh my!

Today is 2 weeks since lent started and I have had no sweets. I thought after a few days it would get easier yet I still salivate and drool when I see goodies. Not fair. I was seriously hoping my cravings would go away in a few days but yet I continue to want want and want more. My plan is even after Lent to not go back to eating them. I have been getting my fixes by strawberry smoothies made with only fresh strawberries whey protein and stevia none of which impact my blood sugar. I have also been eating dark chocolate 85 percent cocoa, a little bit of sugar free pudding and sugar free jello. It has been a tough 2 weeks but those have been my life savers, I still have a month left oh my! Even though I say I am NOT going back on sweets and I only have a month left it will be a feeling of relief to be done with it. I'm hoping maybe this week I will get better and crave less.

Try cream cheese with Splenda and cinnamon mixed in. Num! Also check the low carb cookie recipes here.

I personally have to have the occasional sweet or else I go nuts and binge. However, some people find they can't have even one sweet. You will have to figure out which one you are.

In the meantime, if you're not vegetarian eat some bacon and enjoy how guilt-free it is!

Try eating nothing sweet at all. That's what I've done for the past 3 1/2 years - no sweeteners, no fruit, unsweetened chocolate only. When you don't have that sweet taste, you stop craving it, that's been my experience.

Patdart and Daytona like this.
