Default I dont understand.....

I just had my cholesterol & BP tested at the local pharmacy. My cholesterol is DOWN to 5.6mmol/l from 6.2. BP128/80.

What I dont understand is why my doctor whom I visited 2 weeks ago insisted I take a statin and or the Ezetrol, which I refuse to take, and chose not to lab-test for cholesterol. When I questioned him about it he said I wasnt fasting, but he tested for the HBA1C. I also told him that all I had were a few slices of cucumber that morning.
I thought it very odd, considering he and I have these lengthy discussions on statins, due to my 'high' cholesterol and he doesnt test for it I dont know what to think now.

The nursing sister at the pharmacy tells me she is on RYCOL, it is natural with plant extracts and it contains CoQ10. She has no side-effects from it other than thirst. I thought it might be a better option if I felt the need, but now I dont.

Has anyone here tried RYCOL or perhaps know anything about it?

Thankyou..

Statin or "red rice yeast," a natural FORM of statin, will both deplete your CoQ10.

It is not a side effect, it is how they WORK to lower your lipids.

And no your doc should not prescribing without even measuring your lipids. That is how deep the big pharma are into this, however ...

foxl, I think YOU may have talked about the 'red rice yeast' recently if I recall. When she mentioned it, I remembered it from here and wanted to make sure it was the same thing.

She did say it contains CoQ10.
I checked the box on the shelf and its on the label.

She takes it, but I would rather follow you

Oh and I sent him the articles written by Dr Duane Graveline on statins.
Im sure you already know about him.

And yes.....I could not believe he had slipped up on the test.

Ive never doubted his intention, but now...??

Knowing how my lipids last measured ... you DON'T want to follow me!

But hopefully the fat fast helped put the kibosh on them ...
