Kava Kava hasn’t been studied with insulin but it can have liver toxicity even without the use of insulin. All anti-anxiety supplements or drugs that can reduce cortisol and adrenaline can lower blood glucose in some. It may lower the need for insulin and can also make you less hypo aware. So you got to be careful and monitor your reactions to it. You should consult with your doctor when using insulin any new product you are planning to use.

KAVA is a pretty powerful anti-anxiety herbal. It will also act like a muscle relaxer, pain reliever if taken in high amounts. I have taken KAVA in the past it works well. I have never taken it with insulin, so I have knowledge in that regards. The liver toxicity came to light when certain manufactures were using the whole plant instead of just the roots. Be sure to read the labels.

Sounds too risky. I actually have a bottle of kava capsules that I bought a few months ago, but haven't taken any. I had heard about it possibly being bad for the liver, and you know how it can be to try and get even the simplest info online looking things up. I was thinking that if liver damage from kava only happens after long term use or over-use than I can just use it now and then, but it seems very ify.
Bummers. I've heard its great for stress and pain, but I'de like to keep my liver. Thank you for your responses. Better to be safe
