Default Dumb dumb dumb

I got weak and lazy and I am disappointed in myself. I was doing so good. Today before supper I was a nice 94. I had a busy day and I was tired at the end. The children asked for pizza so I got it but I did not stop there I ate it also. I could look at this as a lesson but I should not need this lesson. I should have known better. My BG 2 hours after eating was 160. Totally wrecked my pretty graph

Here you go ... <handing TTM a duster>

But - you get big credit for testing. It's important to see the damage, and to prevent denial

Now you know.

Yeah, my kids get pizza once a week.

Once at a party I ripped toppings off a couple slices of cheese pizza ... 180!!!

I just ate 2 slices of a frozen pizza. The girls leftover lunch. I am feeling rotten, so I didn't feel like actually making something to eat.

I think the hardest part of eating right is the lack of convenience. Sometimes I just want to grab something to eat, something I don't have to think about.

It is going to take me 3 days to get my BS down. :-(

Agreed! That's why I cook in =huge= quantities and freeze portions of: baked goods, one-dish meals, soups, breakfast squares, oodles of stuff.

It's worth the investment, and really not all that much work when done while you're cooking anyway. I prepare a chicken dish for example, and freeze enough for five more meals ...

Builds up a variety.

Oh, you are preaching to the choir! You are lucky that pizza only brings you to 160 from a nice 94. The fantastic thing is that you Know how many days it will take to stabilize your blood sugar. Now, that's cause for celebration--the obvious result of hard work! Nice!

3babygirls it is neat you know how long it will take to get your numbers back down. I have not figured that one out yet.

Life was just a bit to crazy today. Along with being busy I am dealing with poison ivy in three patches on my face and on my ear

We all stumble from time to time. The thing is to learn a lesson from it and keep moving forward.

My downfall is mac 'n cheese - oh how I love that stuff! I haven't had it in over a year and believe me, it is calling my name!

You had the courage to test, TTM, and I know myself well enough to know I prob'ly wouldn't have. As the others have said, nearly all of us do it and we just have to get back in the ring & go another round. You've made a marvelous start and this won't defeat you. It's the days like you're describing that we let our guard down - we're just too tired & stressed. I've spent the last twelve months in a state like this - one damn thing after another - and am just now coming out of it slowly. You'll be okay - I promise.
