Default Negative Aspect of Heart Surgery

The only real draw back I am having and this is a rant, is getting sick with a crappy mucus making bug.

I had a constitution that would never let me down, never had to spend a moment in bed because I was sick. I could push through anything. I was back to work a week after heart surgery. This heart surgery thing has left me with a weakened constitution. Now my daughter was kind enough to pass on this crap monster to me and I am just above functioning right now. I am at work cause I got to be in order to make a living, but a bed would be nice right now. Second day of Cipro, hoping it kicks in this afternoon. Its now migrated to my chest and my ears are rapidly clogging up. We got both grand kids at home and they are screamers so I am better off here at work. Sorry for the complaining...........

Sorry to hear it, Marty! Not like you, true.

Kid crud is the WORST. I went through years of it, mid 40's to mid-50's. Mine seem to have pushed through the worst years, youngest is now 9 and even last year was not too bad. Take plenty of Vit D and ride it out, is my only advice, and you already know that.

Get better soon!

And, yes, much as I love my kids, sometimes I DO go to work to escape them ...

I know how you feel, Marty! I was a public school teacher for 23 years! Talk about a Kid Crud cesspool at the start of every school year... and for some reason it would hit me at Christmas Holidays as well!

Get better soon!!!

Well last night things broke free, 36 hrs after my first dose of Cipro. Woke up around 2:00am, coughed up a bunch of furballs, took a coughing pill, went back to sleep. Feeling a lot better today.

By the way these coughing pills my doc gave 2 yrs ago, which was the last time I was sick work like a dream. Benzonatate

BENZONATATE- ORAL (Tessalon Perle, Zonatuss) side effects, medical uses, and drug interactions.

Sorry to hear you are under the weather, but glad to hear now you have gotten some relief.

Do the antibiotics mess with your bs at all? We are both at about the same level of control and A1c so I was just curious as I know I will be on them a while after my upcoming surgery.
