Default Whew it's hot!

My insulin that is...I think...my sugars are shooting out of normal and the only thing I can think of is an illness...feeling fine, or my insulin hsa gotten warm. I tossed the vial and opened a new one but has anyone dealt with this already and can offer some advice. I suspect it is occurring in the car. I have left my bag in there a couple of time not wanting to drag it into stores etc. Anybody???

You can keep insulin at room temperature for up to a month, but should never leave it in a hot car.

2 weeks ago my pending flu had my bs jumping all over the place. It settled when I started resting a lot as the 'mild' flu took its course and were nursed with home remedies.

Could there be something lurking?
I know nothing about insulin...sorry.

I copied this off the Novolog site

Last week my numbers started going up,I thought I was eating too many carbs, changed my Flex pen and was back to normal.

"It wonít work the way it should if itís been exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures or if itís been put in direct sunlight (in fact, you should always discard insulin that has been exposed to extreme temperatures or to sunlight). Donít keep insulin in your car during hot (or cold) months. Keep unopened insulin vials or insulin pens in the refrigerator. If no refrigerator is available, store them at room temperature. It may help to use an insulated insulin container when you travel or when youíre enjoying the outdoors"
