I have been ranting a bit since the whole misdiagnosis thing but today I feel like celebrating and where else would I share it!

At first it was all a bit like a roller coaster so I decided to break it into bite sized chunks and firstly set my range to under 10mmol and aimed for it. Bought some digital kitchen scales and really got stuck into working out carbs in everything more accurately. What do you know from the first meal time I got out the scales everything is falling into place (Duh Hillary!) OK so my own estimations of carb content in which I was so confident were not so great as it turns out. I really hate being wrong!

My last 3 days are so much better in fact better than they have been for months! I only had 3 tests (and there were a lot) over 10. and these only just over. When I looked on my downloaded graphs from my meter I realized that in addition to this there were only two more over 8! Staying under 8 was to be my next goal!

I am feeling much happier and I don't think is so much physical as psychological. I was hating those high figures so much.

Ok I get that type 1/LADA is not easy nor predictable and that I will still have inexplicable things happening but this has really given me hope that I can handle this.

Life is a learning curve. It's nice that you are regaining control. Wish you more of 6s and 5s in the near future.

Good for you!

The kitchen scale is critical, especially if you're carb sensitive. They lurk in the most unexpected places, it seems.

I find a kitchen scale is an absolute necessity; my eyeballing a serving and guessing carbs was way off! Once I got a scale, like you I found that things improved bigtime.

Good for you, on working past the anger and frustration to take control! Go you!
