Default choline deficience, MICE study

PLOS ONE: Role of Choline Deficiency in the Fatty Liver*Phenotype of Mice Fed a Low Protein, Very Low Carbohydrate Ketogenic Diet

Deficiency.

Seems that in MICE, ketogenic diet PLUS choline deficiency messes up mitochondria ... WTH?

I'm not in a reading mood at the moment, but were the low ratios of calories from protein (5 and10%) an issue?

So, it seems someone got tired (or exposed) of trying to bash VLC eating by falsely associating it with "excessive protein". They've done that for literally decades. I can't even count how many times I've seen phrases like "high-protein diets like Atkins"!

That didn't work, so now they'll try to bash it by falsely associating it with LOW protein. Is it possible to go ketogenic and protein deficient at the same time? Yes it is. Is it inevitable? No, it isn't.

Get a clue folks! LC/HF has no need or interest in messing with protein. We like to eat the IDEAL amount of protein just as soon as we can figure out what that is. We are FREE when it comes to protein. LC/HF is about swapping out CARBS and replacing them with FATS.

Test THAT!

Guilt by association, HF HP - bad, HF LP, bad, therefore HF bad. I agree with smorgan, test HF P. Other two only prove too much or too little protein is bad, would get bad results with HC HP and HC LP. Started to say equally bad, but I believe it would be worser bad.
