Berries are good! Just have heavy cream with them instead of the yoghurt. It's super yum! When I go out, I take my own cream for my coffee and also my own salad dressing. A classic vinaigrette of olive oil, vinegar (not balsamic, it's too sweet) and mustard is easy to make at home and have ready at all times. And it's by far the best salad dressing around for taste as well as safety. Keep at it! It becomes easier as you learn what you can eat and what you can't. Use your meter before and after meals to find out exactly what you can eat, and give yourself the jolt when you take it too lightly. We've all been there and are here to help you stay on track.

Try making these crackers. They're wonderfully tasty, easy to make, and you know exactly what's in them. You can cut them smaller if you want to. I have them most days for lunch, with butter (need the fats!) and then avocado, vegemite, peanut butter or almond butter. The smell when I open the container is heaven.

We bragged on me too soon. One of the crews had a fish fry last night and I couldn't resist the cajun seasoning and had a couple of pieces (my weakness) and a lousy day sleeping (guilty conscious for caving in probably). Woke up this afternoon with a 98 (5.4). The news that the shutdown was running behind schedule and I was going to loose a couple of days of a two week vacation I have scheduled didn't help either.

Think I've had this since 2003. Told I was Type 2 lean on 2/13/12.

All,well mostly all your numbers sound good.Why can't I get my numbers [fasting] below 100 any more??

Is that a rhetorical question? If not, you need to tell us what you're eating, what exercise you're doing, what medication and what your after meal spikes are like. And by the time you've done that, you'll almost certainly know yourself why your FBGs are high.

I'd already decided today to check my before eating, one and two hour after blood sugars today to make sure I wasn't creeping up (fasting BG isn't the best indicator of overall blood sugar levels) and I've just seen a 6.2 one hour after breakfast which doesn't thrill me at all because I'd had that down reliably to around 5.7.
