How is everyone doing today? I tested at 53 this morning. I was awake at 5:30AM sucking on watermelon glucose tablets. I was sick last night and skipped dinner but still took my full dose of Lantus. Live and learn!

Hello Riet, and welcome aboard! You must be managing well now, to have such a good fasting reading. That's where I'd like mine to be! :)

It's good to meet you and I hope you'll be visiting us often to get better acquainted. Thank you for joining us!

take care,

Wow hope you felt better soon. My body still feels hypo at 70. I have been reading a lot in all the books that came with my pump. I just finished reading last night about dealing with blood sugars when you are sick and they recommend even drinking some real juice if thats all you can keep down Guess they were right :)

Careful, gotta take care of yourself!

Cheers
Pam

Fbs 3/17/10

I tested at 54 this morning. Didn't feel hypo today. When I eat dinner early, my AM FBS is usually low.

106 is not a bad number. You are well within the acceptable range set by the ADA. Stress has been known to increase BS. Sometimes this will happen and can't be avoided. :)

214 this morning, down to 175 tonight

Hey Shanny, no luck so far, but then again there isn't much that doesn't cause problems. Thanks for asking.

I've been using erythritol - it's a little pricey, but I don't use a lot. It is absorbed instead of being metabolized, so is less likely to create "disturbances". I got started on it when I was using Truvia . . . noticed they mix their stevia with erythritol instead of maltodextrin like the splenda people use.

My FBS was 77 this morning. I was happy to move out of the 50's.:)

Ugh...fasting when I woke up today was 61. I even ate some cereal and yogurt before I went to sleep. Oh well...better than high!

((((Wish)))) Is there any chance your work situation will smooth out any time soon, and the stress factor be reduced? It's a real bummer to be faced with every day . . . my last position before retirement did that to me, and I wasn't even diabetic in those days!

My FBS was 81 this morning, the same as last night's bedtime reading.:)

Weird night for me . . . I didn't test before bed - fell in early last night about 9pm. Was awake again about 1am, so got up - tested 99 about 2am. Got drowsy again about 4am, tested 109, so ate a coupla beef sticks to ward off the liver dump. Too late. :( Slept 'til 11:30 & tested 118. Ick!

My FBS was 57 this morning. I ate 3 glucose tabs and that brought it up to 77. I went to bed with a 156 reading and gave myself a 3 unit dose of Novolog to bring it down. Fell asleep before I could test to see how much the 3 units lowered my reading. Oh well...

My fasting blood sugar was 90 this morning. I was happy with that.

I noticed a trend with my fasting number, if I start the day out with a high number (over 100 for me) then I seem to run high all day. I am not sure why this is, but it happens. Before I started taking Lantus, I got slammed by the dawn phenomenon every day. After I got my Lantus dosage stablized, the DP stopped. If you ever need to take insulin, you probably can kiss the DP goodbye!

Came home from work this morning, tested at 121..ate something, went to sleep. Woke up this afternoon at 78. Wonder why I only wake up high when I am home and sleeping at night instead of working and sleeping in the day? Maybe its just messing with me flipping my schedule around from days to nights all the time.
