Snap Newgrange, 112 for me today, which is good for me lately. Warming up here, hoping to get over 40° F today.

74 (4.1) this balmy morning (20°F when I got up.). 65 (3.6) at bedtime.

It is 28°F (-2.2°C) now and I need to get the shoveling done and get out to the store and PO before the next band of snow hits. I can see it creeping over the mountains from Idaho right now. It is so much warmer, I even have a window open for my spoiled cat who likes to sniff the air from outside, though right now he is stretched out in front of the fire.

4.4 this morning.

Windy again with expected temp of 22C (71F). Predicted to start warming up next week - into the 30Cs so hopefully a nice hot day for Christmas is on the way.

Tamagno I too was looking through old photos yesterday as I plan to take some of my son's baby albums with me when I go to stay with him over Christmas. The likeness between him and my new grandson is uncanny - he's definitely his daddy's boy.

Amazing how emotive looking through old photos can be. A quiet tear shed at an image of my own father holding my son. I dearly wish he'd lived to see his great grandson.

5.4 (96) on this very hot morning.

Thanks Shanny & CD .
Now I would have to tell her she was right
Jelly to us is your jello and jam'is more commonly used, but also referred to as fruit spread occasionally.

Freya, my son's daughter also looks exactly like him, and me like my dad .

Hitcheca & Dodie, I miss your posts 

Tamagno, I hope so too. Unfortunately for all the fanfare surrounding Mr Mandela’s passing and the ‘fight’ he stood for, has sadly, 20 years down the line, come to very little in practice and has failed to help the very people he made the sacrifice for. Most of whom today would, believe it or not, say they were better off before 1994. They felt safer and had jobs, but are angry now, of the excessive wealth from the taxpayers money, which are now in the hands of a chosen few. To the majority, of all its people, SA’s problems are unique, especially, ( when your heart beats to the African drum and there’s a pulse in the air and it feels like the ground rises to speak) difficult for outsiders to grasp fully depending on what they read, or whose ‘side’ they’re listening to, including the same scenes played repeatedly in film or video about the previous govt, but.... it is essentially ‘our’ problem, and we understand it. SA has been through two extremes lawfully, and both have failed. It is time we find that middle ground for those deservedly talented unemployed and others who should be economically active, to further build this beautiful land, we call South Africa.

Oopsie, long story...excuse me. Melancholy took over.
