@ mbuster

Thanks - I totally deserve this. I remember when I couldn't get a fasting below 150. Been working hard to achieve it. I finally found what I think is the winning combination for me, as far as carbs - eating - etc. It's amazing how we're all different and have a different way to bring our numbers down, so I can't even compare my journey to anyone else's.

@ billiphillips - actually, this was a few months after diagnosis. I had big problems with it shooting up at any given time of the day into the 200-500 range. It would be in the 130-170 range for a while and then would skyrocket, out of nowhere. Talk about frustrating!

93 for me. But then I ate a combination of oatmeal and oat bran, and it shot up to 183. Bg-wise, that's a stoopid breakfast. But it does other really good things for me, so sometimes I indulge. Back to 95 right now.

I'm just curious what other good things its doing for you if it raises your blood sugar to 183? Jealous, a bit. One bowl of the oats causes my meter to say 'hi' to me (and literally, as in HI).

I need the fiber and love, love, love the taste -- which is a benefit in and of itself. I know that bg over 140 causes damage, but it's the choice I've made.

4.8 this morning. Cloudy and mild - just now + 6 C. Obviously snowstorm expected in New York according to some headlines I just viewed in a Swedish newspaper on the net.

212 this morning.

Changed my basal rates yesterday to good effect except, obviously, for the overnight. Will check that today.

Barbara, one of my kids came to class last Halloween dressed as the Tardis...

WVmom, if memory serves from my West Virginia public school education, the state motto is "Montani Semper Liberi." I've always taken it to heart as apparently you have as well. You could, of course, switch from the oats to fried bologna and ramps while still maintaining Appalachian integrity.

Snow and cold here today, with temperature under 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Only about 4-5 inches of snow so far. Supposed to go to a faculty meeting later this morning. I ought to make it if things don't get much worse.

Did not test today morning but woke up and hit the treadmill and did 20 suryanamskars (a yoga exercise which is said to be great for overall health and toning of body). My son gave me weird looks over what the hell i was upto and my dog kept on jumping and licking me thinking i was going crazy. Its a wonder i got those 20 done

I indulged in a lot of junk food last week when i was home on a vacation. I realized that too many carbs dont make me feel good. Bloated and sluggish. Back to eggs for breakfast and lovin' it

113 this morning

@newgrange Our temps are going to be dropping to stupid levels also. It is 20 degrees F now, but by Monday night it will be 8 if the weather forecasters know what they are talking about. Very cold for this part of the country!
@wvmom Good to see you here!
