That is definitely the fun part! We bought our home (not summer home) specifically because it was a fixer-upper at a great price and it was in a condition where we knew that we could do something terrific with it, to make it really sparkle. (Of course, having a husband that is a construction worker & builder helps, too. )

57 (3.16) this morning, 75 (4.15) at bedtime.

30°F under cloudy skies with an occasional ray of sun breaking through. May see a little snow overnight, but will believe it when I see it!

@CD congrats on the new cottage!

Thanks Barb! Unfortunately we won't get that much time in it this coming summer as we are planning to be in Canada for most of the summer but we should get in a good deal of time once we return at the end of August.

@Mary - ya, that would help! I'm pretty handy around the home as well and my father was a carpenter by trade so I'm not that bad off either. The bad part is he is nearly 80 and retired back in Canada. Not exactly promising for getting his help, if needed.

96 today morning. Same with me- David. I too ate horribly at dinner yday and had a cold coffee frappe at lunch Paid with a 147 at 1.5 hours after dinner yday and 120 before bed. Had weird nightmares too. Started morning with an exercise.

I am sticking to the exercise resolution but have trouble giving up on the 1 diet coke a day i have. I resolved to have only 4 a month

167 this morning.

Mary, I spent some time in Cleveland working one year. The winter with the lake-effect snow was brutal!

CD, many congratulations on your new house! Hope you'll take some before and after photos for us.

Somehow managed to hypo yesterday afternoon. Left me tired so I went to bed early. My new term teaching schedule is very full with no down time during the school day. It's going to take awhile to adjust including insulin management.

A 115 (6.4) this morning, maybe false like yesterdays first test, but my heart didn't skip a beat when I saw it and I'm not wasting a strip.

78 this morning.

Tamagno - I've lived in this area my entire life and the lake's always been brutal towards us in the winter and generous with cool water in the hot summers. I am hoping for better weather on the horizon soon, here. This winter's been worse as far as temps and ice than we've had in a long time.

Tested blood ketones last night before bed, result was 0.6. I've been keeping it around 8-13 total carbs per day but am allowing up to 20 total carbs (I don't deduct fiber. It doesn't work well for me.) I have also lost quite a bit of weight in the past few weeks, so that's definitely a blessing, as I've got quite a bit more to lose.

I am hoping the schools are open today. My son's getting anxious to see his friends. He's been out of school now since Dec. 20th. They haven't been able to go back because of the weather. We really need a bit of a thaw. The ice on my car window had ice on it. Yep, ice growing on ice.
