A happy 6.3 this morning. Had some success with harnessing DP. I was 5.9 at bed, woke at 6.20 (even though its Saturday) and went down to the kitchen - did my BG test, then ate a few walnuts and 2 mouthfuls of cream cheese. Back to bed till 9am and re-tested; still 6.3 - for me that's good. Also had my first below 5 reading before lunch yesterday - 4.9. Not that I'm aiming to go low, just happy that my body can go under 5 - gives me hope for some lower that 6.3 fasting levels in future.
Yes, much cooler today - low 20s in Melbourne Might watch my 18yo play a bit of cricket this afternoon.
Went to the movies last night with my future DIL - saw American Hustle - air conditioning was great but movie not as good as I had hoped. It was highly recommended as a "must see" by a friend. Liked it but didn't love it.
Have a great day/evening.

181 this morning.

The week finally ends!

The good news is that the pianist in our faculty trio wrote a new piece for us. A very clever first outing composition-wise making use of intertwining 12-tone rows. Tricky thing to do - imagine Sudoko grids with note names instead of numbers and you're getting close.

The bad news is that now we're all to write something. Good grief.

94 today. Two days on a row without having my nighttime tea. Second day of rising FBG. While I know that a hight fat dessert is good for me and my FBG, I've been wondering if it is "just high fat" or the quality of the fat that is key.

So a nighttime bulletproof earl grey one hour before bedtime for two days and my FBG drops 20 points. 2 days without and I've gone up 10. So even though the quantity of fat is much less, 28g compared to 50g+, CO close to bed seems to work better than other fats at keeping FBG down.

102 this morning. I read that there is another " Polar Vortex " due to drop down into the USA around the 21st. Brrrrrrr. Here on the west coast we are having unusually warm and dry weather for the middle of winter. I'm enjoying T-shirt weather but the drought is a real worry.
