Franxie, I'm wondering if your night time pain is influencing your FBGL. Are you taking anything for the pain as pain can make the body release adrenaline (fight or flight response) which in turn prompts the liver to release glucose (so you have energy to fight etc).

If my arthritis plays up I take extended release paracetamol which gives around 6 to 8 hours of enough relief so that I can sleep.

Just a thought.

It was only after my everlovin' demonstrated to our doc what my apnea was like - the protracted breath-holding and then the long horrible honking/gasping intake of breath - I had no idea. I too thought that what I was doing was 'snoring' . . . this isn't snoring.

Thanks Shanny, I will definitely check it out later. I've just got to convince him to do something, before it gets any worse or is too late. It's been going on since before he and I even met.

4.9!! My fasting numbers are on a downward trend!!(and I remember when 4.9 would feel like a hypo)

Another polar vortex presumably as our temperatures are dipping down towards minus a zillion. Or -20 Celsius. Plus windchill. Our friend from Israel is in shock with how cold it is. I told her this is NOT a normal winter.

The friend who I posted about whose doctor wanted to put her on a cholesterol med was at the same bat mitzvah as I posted about. She didn't bother paying attention to what she ate claiming "I want to have fun tonight". Well, I had fun and was cognizant of what I ate and stayed low all night. She ended the night with two days of high numbers. It's frustrating, because now that I eat LCHF and have seen what it's done for my numbers and how easy it is, and I know she could do it, but feels like she "can't have fun" and be mindful of her dietary needs.

Sucks caring about other people. ;-).

Thanks, Freya,

I'm taking the maximum ibuprofen by prescription. It's the only medication that works for me, but I still hurt when I'm too still for long periods. I may start sleeping in shifts, taking a long nap every midday.

I've also had trouble getting my carbs and protein down low enough lately. I had chicken and potatoes yesterday, even though I knew that it would ruin my numbers. I always lose my appetite in the summer heat, but when it's cold I want to eat everything in sight. And baby, it's getting really cold this week, with snow followed by below freezing temps for several days in a row. And of course, that affects my bg levels, too. C'est la vie!

6.7 aka 122 seem to be fairly consistent in the high 6's and low 7's getting close to a year off met or is it two. I am wondering why I ave to type a minimum number of characters before sending. Got a new puppy which is keeping me too busy.
