Yes DLC, like Frea said, it's not a competition. People are here to support each other. There is no shame in having a higher number than you like. If we only posted great numbers I wouldn't be able to post a lot of the time. My fasting numbers are often the highest of the day and often are right where you are at now, and I don't have a boil ! I think it's good for people to see how things are going for everyone, it helps me anyway. It will make your numbers look even better when you come down,

Hang in there DLC - as a newbie in this place it's seeing people with a range of results that make it real. It's a learning curve for everyone. I was with another work colleague today (we work at diff sites) and we did tandem BG tests - she has just gone from no meds to one 500mg Met XR. She didn't understand why I tested one hour after my lunch, then 2hrs. I was 6.9, then 5.7. At 2hrs she was 7.9. So I explained that I now know roughly my high point because I can see the second test was lower - it completes the picture. For lunch she ordered lamb souvlaki and ate the wrap. I ordered cauli, bacon and spinach soup and left the bread. I explained that LCHF is supposed to be fine with cholesterol but she is finding that hard to believe. She is eating carbs with every meal because that's what the dietician said.

This is a long winded way of saying please keep us all honest by posting your result warts and all and let's keep sharing our experiences too!

151 this morning according to my CGM, but 225 by blood. Think I'll go with the former for now.

Still having trouble dialing in my basal rates, waking high and hypoing in the afternoon. My old basal rates aren't working now; something has changed.

As to the great winter storm here in the northeast U.S., it pretty much missed us as we had only a few inches of light, powdery snow. Very cold, however and my wood pile is shrinking at an alarming rate.

CD, I wonder if the Canary Islands fit your specs. Might be fun for you and your wife to visit on one of your forays south.

Well they do call it 'Island of Eternal Spring' but I think it does get hot in the middle of summer.

A 6.2 for me this morning as the effects of eating late influences my numbers yet again.

DLC - Everyone is right: This thread was never meant to be a Woohoo! Look at my great numbers today!" type of thread. It's here so we can learn from each other what works and what doesn't work for us individually. We all respond to certain diets, medications and illnesses differently so comparing to others is just going to drive you batty. Honestly, half of the time I post in this thread is simply because I enjoy the conversation.

Don't make me have to send da boys, Guido and Luigi!

DLC - Please read CD's post - it's absolutely spot on.

This thread is aimed at helping each other to see what works for an individual and where they might have gone wrong - but without any element of being judgemental.

The idea is not to create competition to "beat" someone's readings but to pick up tricks that seem to work for them and see whether they might help you.

Please stay with us and let us enjoy watching your progress to complete control. And yes, it may take a month or two - but you will progress!

103 this morning after several weeks in the 70's. WTH. No sickness coming on, no changes to my carbs. Still under 20 each day for over four weeks now with no exceptions. Still in ketosis. Blood ketones last night 0.8.

DLC - no worries, as the others have said. I have enjoyed being able to look back in this thread at my own progress. Over the summer (may have been early fall), I couldn't get my FBS much under 200 even if I stood on my head. Each day, I continued to post and I also had reservations about it. After reading everyone's responses to my concerns, I continued to post even though my numbers were crazy high (including a few in the 300-500 area).

When I look back, I am glad that I did, because I can see where I have come from, when determining my progress. Use it as a tool for you. (I also come here for the witty conversation that overtakes us at the crack of dawn. )

Seriously - it's all good. We're here for support, not to judge your FBS.

Good morning 113 this morning and frigid temperatures here , zero without any wind chill.

Tomango looks like you missed the snow , maybe next time, we got it this time. Your not the only one that has a woodpile that is shrinking faster than normal.
