A 93 for me today. Our high yesterday never got out of the 20's F.
Today is going to be a repeat.

66 (3.65) this cool clear morning, 85 (4.7) at bedtime. Went a bit overboard on protein for dinner.

DLC, please stay! There was a time I thought of leaving because my numbers were so low I thought I would discourage others. But the same things were said to me as have been said to you. It isn't a compitition, it is just sharing. I work very hard to keep my numbers low, no cheats or treats etc. I guess I am the poster child for what being strict can achieve.

@mbuster, if it was a contest on who got up earliest, I'd lose every day!! Today got up at 11:05 AM MST!! But then, I didn't go to until almost 3:00AM MST last night.

6.5 (after 5.5 at bed) - that seems to be the norm.

Cool change through today with some rain apparently. Good for the gardens.

Long Australia Day weekend starts tonight - yay!

Unfortunately, due to the horrible nature of this dreaded disease, some of us are extremely strict with no cheats and can't even get there then! I show blood ketones of 0.8 to 1.0 depending on the day, and woke up to a FBS over 100 today. Personally, I think it's a conspiracy between CD's two spies and my meter.

I agree Mary. My blood ketones are in the 2.5-3.5 range most of the time and never have been lower than 1.0. I try to keep carbs under 25 per day and usually closer to 15-20. My fasting is mostly between 100-110, sometimes I'll get into double digits and sometimes up to 120 or so. On the bright side, my AM numbers are usually the highest of the day and normally come down to the 80-90 range before lunch or dinner and my meals usually don't raise my bg more than 10 points or less. Over all as time goes on my daily numbers are getting better. I test about 8-10 times a day and my 30 day average right now is 105 so I don't worry too much about fasting levels. The other thing is that I have not been using Glipizide for over 5 months. I know we all would like to see instant results, but as long as things improve it's all good.

4.4 this morning.

Expected top temp 28C. Raining heavily this morning - my garden so needs it.

JT and Pat, arthritic pain is such a bummer isn't it. Your cold weather doesn't help but the humidity here in Australia during the summer doesn't help either. Nagging, chronic pain can be so debilitating, sometimes hard to keep your spirits up - but we must soldier on.

Thanks, WalkerWally. Well, the fires rule out moving to Arizona or California. If it isn't ice, it's fire. If it isn't a hurricane, it's a tornado. And, I hear Kiluea (?sp) is erupting in Hawaii! Might as well stay in Missouri.

LOL @ JT Reagan . . . true story from last year when we took the car in to have the windshield replaced - a long crack had developed across the bottom, out of our field of vision, due to getting stuck behind a gravel truck one day on our own road. So actually the car would still pass inspection, which prompted our everlovin' mechanic to quip: 'why bother to replace it? This is Missouri - it's just gonna happen again!'

Thank you for your wonderful words of support and encouragement to just keep on posting and hanging in there! I finally get it - it's not a competition and we are all individuals. Mary made me laugh - not even standing on one's head made those numbers come down! I know the feeling. lol And heaven forbid Guido and Luigi come a knockin' on my door in their trenchcoats!

FBG 7.1

We have another heatwave, though not as extreme, coming our way early next week but this morning, as Freya mentioned, blessed rain and mild temps.

I live in a suburb that attracts retirees. At the crack of dawn they all get out their power tools and lawn mowers, beaver away for a couple of hours then go back inside for their nana naps. Unfortunately I'm a shift worker and being woken up at 8am is like being woken up at 5am. This morning I counted 2 power tools and a lawn mower. Noise for about 10 mins then the rain fell heavily and they all stopped and scampered inside. That's why I love the blessed rain! lol
