104 today
99 yesterday

We started today at 33 degrees F and it has dropped all day. They say it will be between 8-13 tonight--cold for those of us with southern bones! By Sunday it will be warm and sunny, only to dip again two days later. Roller coaster weather!

Well. Flagstaff is in northern Arizona and at a much higher altitude than southern Arizona. It is heavily forested so fires are a problem. Normally at this time of year they have a lot of snow. Southern Arizona is more desert and they have to deal with high temps in the Summer.
In California we are in the middle of a severe drought and I live in the mountains so fire is a real concern, but California is so large there are large differences in weather from one part to another. In areas along the coast many places have almost ideal weather but cost of living can be a lot higher. I have relatives in Kansas City, MO

A 5.6 this morning as I wait on the 400+ first year students coming in today to write their diagnostic exams.

Okay, DLC, so this morning's FBG was 337. Over the last few years I've run everywhere from the 30s to the 500s. Mostly I enjoy friends and shared information around here!

If the game is who gets up first, I may win, however, rising generally at 3:00am. About the time Barbara's going to bed.

Trying like mad to readjust basal rates. Something has changed. Yesterday afternoon I expected my after work trip to the woodpile to lower what was already low glucose and was surprised to see a rise afterword that just kept going up. Carbs for dinner were around 20 with no snack later. Raised basal during that period by 0.10 units which usually does the trick. Obviously no luck.

Likely to be over 400 before breakfast and work. If my current trend continues, it won't go down without a substantial bolus which is what I did yesterday with decent results until the fast acting wore off toward the late afternoon.

Guess I'll be increasing basal rates again this morning. Not much wiggle room in diet at this point, so insulin is it. I just hate hypos though, so I'm cautious.

Good grief.

An 88 (4.9) this morning. Too cold to go back out in just my droopy drawers and crocs. I felt a little tougher last night when I put a new light bulb in the well shed than I do this morning. It was 29 then, it's 23 now.

DLC, I've worked shift work for the majority of my 37 years at a paper mill. It definitely makes regulating BG harder. I'm still like a yo-yo, just have to stay after it though.

Good morning , so much for a two digit number today , way off at 218. I was bad on the carbs last night . Nice low carb dinner last night but went down the tubes after that , fell asleep on the couch and never checked my sugar until this morning. Quick bolus will get it back but I should know better , we'll i do know better but just lost it last night. Have a good day everyone.

While I feel bad that everyone's experiencing the cold, it's -18 degrees here.

113 this morning, producing another after being in the 70's and 80's for a few weeks. Schools are closed today due to the weather. Looks like a work-from-home day for me. Stay warm, everyone!

@ DLC - glad I made you laugh. Sometimes we all need to do that!

Up at 3am, called into work for a heart attack.

163 was my level when I got home. I think my diabetes is bipolar (meant as a joke a not to offend anyone who suffers from it lol), yesterday morning it was 80, day before that higher, then lower, etc. Have an appt with my endo on 2/4/14,
Hope she can shed some light on this!

My husband and I have decided to move to Colorado! I'm so excited to be close to my family again. We are planning on moving in March to the Denver area. I can't wait :-)
