Good luck today Tamagno! 97 this morning. I know I am so inconsistent posting here but we are a hot mess. Everyone has been constantly sick but me! My husbands ear infection is so bad he had to have a tube put in. Lost some hearing and will take about three weeks to completely heal. Hope his hearing comes back. Driving me crazy............

OMG -- isn't Kerry Gold butter the best -- I tell people that you could take a Popsicle stick and shove it in it and eat it like a Popsicle

107 this morning -- more snow today with Mary's arctic blast coming in later today -- temps dropping all day to 8f tonight -- high 13f tomorrow and then 2f tomorrow night -- on top of that more snow today (yes a repeat as I can not believe all the snow we have had in the last 2 weeks) -- UG

I will need to listen to my wife when she wants to visit our eldest son in Hawaii -- she has missed all of the cold and snowy weather in the past 2 weeks

She keeps sending me pictures of Hilo bay and stuff

84!! After yesterday of major lows due to stupid choices (exercising and not eating- duh), they are back up to a level that makes me comfortable. now I am dealing with being just plain cold (hands and feet) and just a tad woozy with a little bitty headache (very dry here)- I don't think my body likes Nexium, Im only on day 5!

106 this morning. It may sound stupid but I would love to have snow here, even with the cold. Any moisture would be welcome. Feast or famine I guess. Sunny today with temps in the 60's all week. It's beautiful, but the fruit tree have started to blossom for crying out loud. This has happened before and then we will get a freeze and it kills all the buds and no fruit that year. Oh well, I am not eating fruit now anyway.

Don't wish for the temps we have. They're issuing warnings all over regarding cold-exposed skin. It's so cold here that they've opened emergency shelters all over the metro areas and suburbs for people that are either homeless or have heating problems. They told us to even keep our kids indoors and warned elderly folks to stay inside. They have county services going and checking on elderly folks that live alone, to make sure they're warm and safe. It's really bad here. I live on the lake shore and with the wind off the lake, it was -42 degrees when I went out earlier.

Well, you're right. That's more extreme than I would like to see. I think the lowest I have seen here is -12 and that is rare. It's not the cold I would like to see, just any kind of moisture. Extremes either way are difficult to deal with. Summers here are often in the 110-115 degree range in town. I live at a higher altitude and we usually don't go over 100, easily handled by evaporative coolers. The heat is easier to deal with as the humidity is usually quite low. One thing about the weather is that we have no choice but take what we are given. On the plus side the wood pile isn't going down much and our propane usage is quite low for winter.
