John, I join the group in wishing you a warm welcome back and stating that you were missed. So happy Lyrica is working for you. The body really can adjust to levels of pain- may your complete relief be in sight.

Well, Peet's coffee did not get me. Drank loads of water, exercised, and, most importantly, I added extra fat into my diet last night and ended the night by eating a fat bomb before bed.

74 this morning. Very happy.

86 (4.8) this morning. Windy today with a warming trend.
Really glad to hear from you John. Sorry you had to go through it but glad you are home.

Thank you all so much!

I finally got home late yesterday, much to my relief. Hospital was fixing to send me for a week of rehab, but I was able to get out of it.

Turned out that my UTI concerns were much more than I thought. The strain I had was nasty and didn't show up in blood tests, only urinalysis. Only symptoms were confusion and finally passing out. Evidently, my first class last Friday found me on the floor.

Landed in ICU for a couple of days before getting up to the wards. Was completely paralyzed until the weekend.

As usual, the hospital's insulin therapy was awful as was their concept of food. Glucose hasn't been under 200 since I was there with a couple of forays upwards of 400. They didn't feed me at all the first four days as I couldn't swallow. The dextrose drip provided as compensation sent glucose through the roof.

Good news is that some adjustments to my Baclofen regimen have been helpful. Also, and most wonderfully, they decided to start me on Lyrica. That has been a revelation. I had no idea the amount of pain I'd grown accustomed to until the Lyrica started to kick in.

So, I'm home and wobbling about with my racy red walker and glad of it!
Pics of the racey red walker or it didn't happen!

Oh, and it's so very nice to have you back, John! I refused to post my morning numbers until your return (at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

78 (4.3) on yet another overcast cold morning with nothing but cold and rain in sight. Sigh... but there are azaleas and other beautiful flowers to raise the spirits.

John!!! So glad that you have good news, especially that you're home and mending. Hate that you had to go through all that bad stuff. Sharing your story will help many of us to prepare for the eventuality of bad hospital stays.

My son was 5.2 this morning.
Happy to see you're on the mend John.
I hate those sneaky carbs too, Mollie.
