The flight back home is four hours and she is almost 90. This is beyond terrible.
It is a lot of healing for a 90-year-old body, when elderly bodies sometimes recover more slowly, but it sounds like she was pretty hale & hearty before the fall, so her strong constitution can get her through. Love & prayers for all of you.

Thanks Shanny, I appreciate it. They actually had to delay the surgery as they are booked and trying to open a surgery room for her. She was confirmed to have four breaks - two places in the hip and two in the wrist. She has a fractured shoulder. My mom is on the verge of hysterical and I have never known my mom to be that way. This is past a nightmare, since they're 2,000 miles away.

93 this morning. Mary, prayers for all. My mother fell before T'giving visiting my daughter and broke her hip about 2,000 miles away. They wouldn't let her leave 'til after she had rehab so it was about 6 weeks. However, she lived on her own. And, I flew back from Europe a few years ago with a woman who had broken hers and the only way she was cleared to fly home was accompanied by a nurse. But hers was less than a week old.

Prayers for all,

66 (3.65) this cloudy, windy morning, 75 (4.15) at bedtime.

53įF and very windy. Supposed to see rain this evening and through the weekend.

Well, we are going to the vet again this afternoon. Boo only ate a small amount of food yesterday and this morning. No poo either, but normal peeing. So he is hydrated at least. His gums are nice and pink and his eyes fill the sockets and look clear, there is elasticity to his skin so he seems good on those fronts. He was a little more active yesterday and this morning. They just can't figure out what is wrong with him.

((((Mary)))) I am so sorry to hear about your Gramma!! I can understand your mom being so devastated and your frustration at being so far away in this terrible time. Sending prayers to all of you. Hoping Gramma has a speedy recovery.

@John, glad to hear you are back to work! I bet the kids are glad to see you! Probably not a bad idea to have someone in the classroom with you, at least for a little while, just in case you need help.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

201 this morning.

Heavens, Mary, what a terrible ordeal! I'll join my prayers with the others.

First day back was a mix of blessings and frustration with so much to do in preparation for next Friday's spring concert. The children, of course, are wonderful, while my difficulties with administration leave me habitually unclear where I stand.

A friend in the English department whispered to me at faculty meeting that she too is under "unofficial" probation for ambiguous reasons.

Our brave new world, I suppose.

Nevertheless, its wonderful to wake with the sounds of the birds in the forest and the warmth of spring! Doubtless the gentle voice of God reminding me that all is well.

107 and not happy with it. I saw somewhere where lipitor may increase fasting BG levels.

Mary, thoughts and prayers are with you and your mother.
