97, had to test again and got 94. Mid 80s is my norm, and no high carbs yesterday. Looks like a great day for a hike in the mountains after work today. We'll see.

I said that the dismissal of low spectrum diabetics is an epidemic in this country and making it a certainty for this group to progress. I told her more doctors need to be harder on this group who can at least manage it and slow or stop progression. This keeps people like me from insurance covering test strips and I should be testing.

...she said "You are 100% right".
Mollie, it looks like you have landed but your BG's haven't. They are still in the air.

I hope you had a good trip.

Hi Everyone! It's been a while since my last post so I'll check in now with a 5.5 this morning. We have since left Paris and moved across the pond to Carleton Place, Ontario in Canada where we'll be staying with my sister until next week before moving over to my friend's place in Ottawa for the duration of our vacation.

My Paris impressions: I loved the architecture and the culture! It was so interesting to see everything I've until now only read about in books or seen on TV. The Louvre needs at least two full days to fully explore its halls and appreciate all the wonderful art. The Rodin Museum, the Luxembourg Gardens, Pére Lachaise Cemetary, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Palace of Versailles, and so much more kept us on our toes walking. We logged 40,000 steps minimum each and every day we were there and we barely touched the surface of what the city has to offer.

My French leaved much to be desired and I never truly realised how much I had forgotten until Paris and my first attempt at communicating with the locals. I commend the poor Parisians who had to deal with that.

We were able to low carb it for the entire trip but had to work hard at ignoring the wonderfully eclectic desserts on offer in every patisserie window. (Shanny, we need a drool emoticon ). I purchased some salt and some Mäille mustards as well as the compulsory Eiffel Tower statue that will forevermore sit on my desk by my computer.

I'm not able to post many pictures here or on FB for the time being but will do so when I can. I hope you are all doing well and that you are having as great a summer as I am.

This is a drive-by from the middle of the Atlantic. My FBG is running from 87 to 92. Pre-meal is in the high-70s to mid-80s, 45 minute pp is mid-90s. First phase insulin response is stronger than it has been in months...back down in the 80s within an hour.

Not sure what has changed. I am eating and exercising very much as I do when at home. Maybe it is all that extra-rich cheese?

I told DH my BG wants to be on vaycay all the time.

Home, with regular internet access, in a few days!

5.4 (97). And as a former Ottawa resident, I say to CanadianDude "Welcome". (Or should that be "Welcome back"?)

141 this morning.

CD, thank you so much for your tralogue! I'm sure those delicacies beckoning from the patisseries were loaded with fat thereby negating any possible contribution of sugar and white flour.

Oh yes, I was also pleased to see you'd counted steps...
