157 this morning.

WalkerWally, I had a similar experience with cigars! They had become a great joy, especially post prandial with fine brandy and gentleman acquaintances with whom the conversation generally turned to the subject of our mutual brilliance.

Two things happened: First, I noticed that my trips to the cigar shop and liquor store were costing a small fortune with my favored cigar brands often costing $20-$30 per cigar and matching brandies similarly absurd. Second, somewhere along the line I gave up drinking, causing my collection of fine brandies to gather dust in the basement, my premium cigars to languish in their humidor and my associated compadres to fade into obscurity.

Mary, while I very much doubt this scenario this matches yours, I have recently had occasion to notice the price of cigarettes and was stunned to observe prices north of $7 a pack. Equally stunning was the discovery that big tobacco's profit accounts for only $0.10 to $0.15 per pack, making the tax collector - firmly in your purview - the primary beneficiary of those monies.

Perhaps, therefore, you might consider quitting a tax-planning strategy?

93 (5.2) this morning. We have a chance of thunder storms today with monsoonal moisture coming up from Mexico and Arizona. We usually get this later in the year. Don't like the humidity.

129 today.

@ John - lol - yes, we could go the route of tax planning. Around here, they average $5.60 a pack. I almost cracked by late last night and had one, but in the end I decided it wasn't worth it, as I had gone almost 24 hours without one.

Ah well ... hoping it gets easier by the day.

Thanks everyone, for your support, wisdom and humor. It is definitely appreciated as I muster up the commitment to stay smoke-free.

Here's to hoping that everyone has a great Sunday!
