Oh Pat, such appalling news!

CD, I suppose this is a good way to acquire tenure...

While I, my dear friends, having yesterday completed my term-end academic comments (with little help from my furry TA, Sam) am officially on holiday!

The positive bit about my seemingly endless minor ailments being that I am not allowed to participate in the usual chores around this joint.

110 this morning. Finally drying out after more than a day of rain. Just in time for our Sunday Slow Riders bike ride.

84 (4.6) this morning. Wow, how's that for a roller coaster ride, after a 110 yesterday. I ran high all day yesterday and was at 118 before dinner but at 111 an hour and a half after. Sometimes I guess all you can do is go with it.

The biggest lie I tell myself is "I don't need to write that down. I'll remember it"

6.2 (112). But the office Christmas party was last night (first time I ever went), and there was cheesecake for dessert...

118, high for me but not as bad as yesterday.

Yesterday I was 134-137 fasting and I think I know the cause. For over a decade I've been taking 80mg statins daily before bed without issues. In july, thinking I could cut the dose to 40mg. Since then I've had a couple of lipids tests, and noticed a big increase in my total C. I decided to go back on 80mg Thursday night. As a result Fri and Sat mornings my FBG were way up there. I'm halving my dose back to 40 again and this AM was lower. A fine balancing act.

Pat, I am sooo sorry about your news.

Nick, glad you've found that lowering your statins has lowered your fasting numbers.

76 (4.2) this lightly snowing morning, 86 (4.76) at bedtime.

Woke up to a dusting of snow. It melted quickly as temp rose to 38įF. But we are under Winter Weather Advisory for snow and wind from 4PM today to 7AM Monday. Guess I had better get my garbage can up to the road sooner rather than later!
