105 (5.8) still pretty cold here. Still wishing we were diving in Cozumel.

116 (6.4) this morning. I thought yesterday I was maybe out of this but apparently not. Makes sense though as I still feel cruddy.
Started raining early this morning and up to .30" on my rain gauge and it looks like it will continue for a while.
It's 42įF so not cold enough for snow.

97 good to have it under100 again. Sometimes there are mysterious higher readings than usual.

141, got up a bit later than I usually do.

I sort of freak out to give that lantus shot when I BG is 82.

I had a wicked dream last week, and when I was awaken by it, tested my blood sugar was 62, so quite low. So it kinda of scares me about going to bed with an 82. I started splitting the dose so I don't give that big dose at night, and it seemed to help.

Roxanne, I had real trouble when I took Lantus at night. Some of my worst lows ever happened during that time, so I switched to morning. It's MUCH better for me, and usually my lows aren't very low at all now. Also, they start in the day so I can catch them with my meter if I don't feel them. Of course, the unpredictable happens both directions, and then who knows why...

Very late to report, spent the day in the ER. 74 (4.09) this snowy morning, 84 (4.65) after I took a bad fall just before bedtime.

I was getting ready for bed last night, one minute I was standing in the kitchen, the next in a pool of blood on the floor! I have no idea what happened. I totally did a face plant on the floor breaking my new glasses. Dragged myself up and cleaned up a bit. Wondered if bg was a low, but no, 84 is an OK #. I just wanted to go to bed, so I did. This was about 1:30AM. I woke up again at about 4:30AM, got up and cleaned more of the blood off the floor and carpet. I was shocked to see my right eye was totally swollen shut, I had a cut just under my eyebrow bruises were coming out on my right cheek and the bridge of my nose. My hair was caked with blood. My left hand is very swollen and extremely bruised. I can't quite figure out how I fell to end up like that. I was confused and very tired feeling so I went back to bed.

When I finally got up I was a mess!! I called my friend who is a nurse and she came over to look at me. We both kind of agreed I should go to the ER. It was snowing and both my eyes were blurry now there was no way I could have driven myself. Thankfully she could take me.

By now I am aching all over my eye is swollen shut and I am in extreme pain. They ran me through the ringer, head CT scan, chest xray, low back xray, hand xray, multiple blood tests, urine test, and a tetanus shot. Then they gave me a bag of fluids and finally a shot of morphine!! I have to schedule a echocardiogram tomorrow. I waited too long so they couldn't stitch my brow, but that's OK. The good news is nothing is broken, blood work is good, only thing was maybe the beginning of a UTI. Still no clue as to why I went down though. This has happened a few times in the last year, but this was the worst outcome.

I feel like I was run over by a truck! But on the good side it is almost time for a pain pill!!

Barbara! This is the scariest thing I've heard of in years. Made me think for a moment there might've been an intruder who beat you up. No doubt your glasses did most of the damage - such a good sturdy new pair you bought! I wish I were closer & could stay a coupla days with you . . . take care & keep us posted.

Barbara,

Falls at the best of times aren't funny. In the weather conditions you are currently 'enjoying' they're little short of terrifying. Please take great care of yourself and hopefully identify why the fall happened. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
