99 (5.5) this morning. Ate light yesterday after a weekend of pigging out, nice to be back home and returning to normal.
We got about 1/2 inch of rain and probably a little more today and then out of here.

146 (8.1) this morning. In a moment of weakness and following snow shoveling, kid-driving, and errand running, I slipped stealthily into a McDonalds and had a breakfast sandwich--I figured, why not? and I hadn't been to a McDonalds in 7-8 months. One hour later my BG was 269.

Guess I'm still diabetic.

I've been a really bad girl and haven't tested FBG for a couple of days. Yesterday was a frantic day starting several hrs. earlier than usual. Forgot it again this morning until about 2 hrs post wakeup with still no food and was 90 so I guess not having time to properly eat but two light meals served me well.

Hope those of you in the mega storm stay warm and safe. I'm making a pot of vegetable/beef soup in hopes we get some more cold weather to enjoy it.

Try to understand, Dave, that these little moments will haunt you for several days. Just going strict the following day is not going to get you back in the groove. Your best option is to stay on plan & stick to one serving of cheesecake or whatever. All your efforts to fix a slipup are for naught - it's going to affect your levels for days. We've all BTDT, so we can say with assurance, that cheesecake won't let you go for two/three/four days at best.

75 (4.15) this hazy/cloudy morning, 88 (4.87) at bedtime.

40F supposed to be 49F for a high today, just might happen. It has been very mild for Winter here. Yesterday one city was 67 a record high for the day. My fear is the lilacs will bud in this lovely weather and when Winter returns, as I am sure it will, they will all freeze up.

OK, so on my dashboard is a little sign that says TEST/EAT. I had a great day, and after an hour at the dog park with Annie I loaded her up and got ready to leave. I was fine, absolutely, and two hours after lunch. Buuut...the sign said, so I tested. BS 35. Whew! Out of nowhere, but testing saved the day, and the drivers along the way. Now I am home, BS 90...still feeling fine. Hope you are fine, too.

You know, I realize that for years I have wanted to tell somebody, "Oh, my BS is this or that, and I wonder if..., and now it's gone up, or now it's gone down..." But of course it's kind of boring and even obscure to most people, and yet I think of it almost every minute of my day. So, tonight I am feeling very grateful to be part of a community where that sort of conversation can go on midst talk of cruises, bike trips and shoveling snow. Thank you.

Did not test today as was rushing to the doctor before I got late for the appointment. All is good. She is such a great doctor. When I told her physically I am fine but am having anxiety attacks, she listened to me patiently and was so nice and upfront about postpartum blues. She told me I need to be more forgiving towards myself for not being perfect always and I have a 2 year old who is happy and healthy- that proves I am doing a good job. Did I say I love her?

Oh golly, Kathryn, you have just spoken one of the great truths! There have been so many times I wanted to discuss ideas about the what and why of my BG with someone. I have come to the conclusion family and friends are all afraid of that discussion.

It is such a relief to find a community of people who are not afraid to look at and try to understand reality!

98 / 5.4 this morning.
