161 this morning.

Suspended pump during wood stacking yesterday which helped avoid afternoon hypos.

Took only 1.5 units of insulin with dinner last night, which may have been just a bit low.

Tuesday is a very long day this year not ending until after 9:00pm. We're all making do with more hours and less pay. Much more chatter this year among the graybeards about retirement. Another couple of years to go for most of us.

115 today. Glad it's not higher, since I am totally stressed. My son was home sick from school yesterday with a head cold. I get totally, almost unbearably stressed anytime he's sick. He was very sick as a baby and because of it, I am a complete ball of nerves when he comes down with even the smallest cold. It's to be expected, as there are 400+ kids in his school all sharing the same cafeteria and facilities. Even with that, I still cringe with every sneeze or cough. Hopefully he'll be back at school today, and my mind will be a bit at ease.

Everyone enjoy the day. Chilly here - supposed to get warm again after today.

5.6 (100) this morning. Very late today, got in just before 7pm. There are days which need more hours.

Barbara, I agree, always good to see other parts of the world. I too enjoy it. We of course see so much of your country with all the movies & soapies, but we would also like to see your lovely surrounding scenery, you've mentioned before. :)

Mary, hope your little one is better.

Rustynail, I SNAP you on the A1c. Also had to fit my doctor in today, after a call from his office to reschedule. Now also waiting on my results.

I was pleased with him today. He actually ACKNOWLEDGED how well I am doing (or looking) due to me managing my D. That helps for the relationship.

75 (4.15) this dreary cloudy morning with chance of rain too! 82 (4.5) at bedtime.

@Tish, I am trying to get a couple photos of my surroundings, but it is so socked in with clouds you can't really see much right now. I am going to try to catch one of those brief moments of sun to at least get the front yard trees which are gorgeous red. The mountains behind me are already half way covered in snow, but the clouds are obscuring it right now.

@Mary, hope the little one is fit as a fiddle quickly.

@Tamagno, there is a lot to be said for retirement....I'm enjoying it thoroughly! Though I do a little selling on ebay here and there still. Is there any consulting work you can do at the school or elsewhere so as not to have to work full time?

I will as soon as there is something to photo. Right now it is hailing.... hope the leaves survive it. I actually went out just before the hail and snapped these two. I'll try to get the mountains again when it is all clear. That snow will be there all winter now, plus more!!

The mountains in the back are The Bitterroots, the ones in the front are part of the Garnet Mountains.

147 this morning.

Suspended my pump yesterday during our faculty trio performance. While we played well, I ended up with a foray to elevated glucose of nearly 350. Much yet to learn!

Barbara, your photos are beautiful! What a blessing to live in such a place. As to partial retirement, I'm still a few years away, if my health holds out.

Taxes here are so high that only a few can afford this area in retirement. I would end up spending most of my social security money on property taxes.

Stopped Cymbalta for pain. No help, only side effects. Next up is Neurontin which I began last night. Some apparent relief this morning, though the dosage has yet to be titrated.

Home renovations should be complete this week. Most especially good work done by all the contractors involved, much to our relief! Very much looking forward to moving back into the master suite, now with three large windows looking out to the woods.

Oh yes, we are now experiencing moose sitings here in Connecticut of all places. One actually appeared on our school campus outside the parsonage. Good grief!

SNAP CD. 5.4 (96) and mine is valid and expires with breakfast.

My new A1c is 5.8% and this time I'm not screaming, knowing that I'm paying the price for my indulgent tantrum a few weeks ago. Strangely with it, my cholesterol is up to 6.6% and doc is bugging me to take something which I refuse, but I had it down to 5.7% just on a month ago. Interesting that it bobs up and down like that within short periods. Or is something amiss? And if so, I'm of the impression that it can easily be manipulated or am I wrong?

Barbara, those pics are beautiful of the mountain and love the red tree.
Thank you for sharing.
