Default Low Body Temp & Chills

I haven't been feeling very well the last 3 days and I was wondering if anyone on here has a low body temperature? My body temp is usually 96.6. I have chills and my skin in warm to the touch. I have no appetite and only ate one snack yesterday and one snack today. Since I have no fever, I see no reason to visit the doctor. BTW, my TSH levels are checked at least every 3 months and my TSH is 2.08 (scale 0.50-6.00). My low body temp bothers me and my doctor checks my thyroid regularly. In September of last year, when I changed doctors I complained about several symptoms of possible issues related to my thyroid. I have three different thermometers and they are all in the 96ish range. I am also cold 98% of the time.

I have been complaining to my dr about being unusually cold for the past 2 months. So much so that they checked my thyroid. It was on the low end of normal...but normal nonetheless. If it is something different in the last few days are you sure you arent just getting sick?

*hug* hope you feel better soon

Pam: I have so many health problems, there are not many days that I feel good. Some days are worse than others. I thought I may have a touch of stomach flu. With having a low body temp every day, it is hard to tell what my temp would be if I had a fever. A fever is important to know when an infection is present. I still do not feel the best but I was able to have some cold cereal this morning.

I typically run around 97, so if I am running 99 or up...to me that is a significant enough fever to worry about.

I find with a lower blood sugar my body temp will decrease and I will feel colder, and with a higher blood sugar I will feel warmer. Diabetes is a potential cause for you body temp as it is a metabolic disorder and you metabolism is a component of your body temp. Mine usually stays around higher 96- low 97.
