From the abstract
"Both control- and fructose-fed rats demonstrated increased food intake and increased weight gain when they were switched to the high-fat diet, but rats that had previously been fed fructose demonstrated a significantly higher energy intake along with a significantly higher weight gain (Fig. 4). Adiposity gain over the course of the high-fat diet was also significantly higher in fructose rats than in controls assessed by both whole body adiposity and the sum of three adiposity tissues at death"

yeah, lets blame the fat, no way can it be the fructose. (Heavy dose of sarcasm intended)

Whoops sorry..I probably sent links that were slightly misleading. But what I took from them is that fructose is the main component that leads to leptin resistance.

Not misleading, that is what first link says. I got curious at what the diet was when they said high fat, high calorie diet caused obesity after high fructose caused leptin resistance but did not lead to obesity (probably not enough time after leptin resistance to conclude that). Wouldn't call 60% corn starch or 60% fructose exactly high fat myself.

I didn't look at Mercola link.

Pink? You might benefit from watching Dr. Lustig's lecture on 'Sugar: the Bitter Truth'. I'm sure you can find it on YouTube. It's lengthy and it's scientific, but it tells the truth.
