Got 2 free passes to try classes (have to make sure the classes don't kill me) for strength training! New venue for me. Friends with a personal trainer here at work and she said that 2 classes a week could make a size difference with toning in 2 months.

So, a brave new me is going to give it a shot before committing. Good thing is, this gym is "no contract"- so if I wuss out, I have an exit.

Since it's 30 miles to town for me I don't think a Gym is worthwhile but I need to get motivated to do more at home. The last few days I have been feeling Blah, just kind of wiped out, don't really know why but I am not up to doing much. I got to bed early last night hoping it would help but still not feeling to chipper. Maybe a bug of some kind so hopefully better in the next couple of days.

Hi all
I wasnt going to do a big write up on my bicycle ride for the ADA.
But.. OK I did

Day 1; Saturday started at 8:30 in Woburn MA. I made the 64 mile ride to Durham NH it was hot, I drank 1 gallon of sport drink. my pores where sore from sweating so much. I got to eat everything at the rest stops (3 of them) from bananas to cake and potato chips and still had BG under 120 for the ride. did the ride in fine time (4:36 riding time, 14.6 MPH average and 5:45 overall time) and great spirits. I have not had a cramp since I quit Avapro 7 weeks ago Dinner was in the cafeteria at UNH a really great place to eat the food was fantastic. I eat spaghetti (with real noodles, haven't had that in years) and FF and still my BG was under 150 (a little help from my pump 1/2 the regular bolas) Spent the night at UNH dorms while they had AC we could not adjust ether the temp or reduce the hurricane that blew through the room, so sleep was not great.

Day 2; Not as hot, we road along the NH and ME beaches, through Ogunquint ME (what a traffic nightmare) with an on shore breeze (20+ MPH) from the south, it made for a fast and pleasant temp after yesterdays heat. I just wanted the ride to be over so I skipped a loop and saved 13 miles. Day total of 72 miles (5:08 riding time 14.2 MPH AV and 6 hours overall time) when I finished the ride at UNE I was tired but I felt good.

What a difference quitting Avapro has made I feel like my old self, Like I can ride again... (I did).

Its now Wednesday and my legs still hurt. (but NO CRAMPS)

Well the 11th was the last day I was able to walk a dedicated 4 miles. I have no idea what was going on but I was so exhausted I could hardly walk and struggled to get any walking done. Part of it may have been due to not sleeping well and tossing and turning all night. I have been able to get a decent nights sleep the last couple of days, well better, and can feel the improvement. This is the first day I have been able to get 4 miles in and I was able to keep up a decent pace of about 110 steps/min. I could have walked further today but I was leery of pushing it too much. Hopefully tomorrow will be the same.
Sunday 7/20 4.20 miles, 10,635 steps

Way to go D86. Quite an achievement.

Good job, Wally- so proud of you to power through 4.20 miles. That is a great achievement. Follow your instinct- do not push it, else you will have taken 1 step ahead, 5 back!
