I thought I was really doing something walking a a mile or two and really doing something going 5 miles on a bike when I started. The key thing is doing the best you can without overdoing and keeping on doing it. Pro cyclists aren't even warmed up at the point I'm worn out.

I don't always remember to look at the pedometer when I get to or leave work to have an accurate numbers for the night. I think I had about 13,000 steps at work last night. I know I had 15,122 steps for yesterday proper.

Oops, didn't post yesterday but I did manage to get 4 miles in. Didn't want to push it so I stopped right at 4 miles for the day.
Wednesday 9/17 4.10 miles, 10,388 steps

macksvickey, what's important is your own personal goals depending on your ability. After retiring 4 years ago I spent too much time sitting and once, just over a year ago, I decided to get off my but and get moving it was all I could do to go 1 to 1 1/2 miles in a day. Many people can walk circles around me but what's important is what is good for you. I have to deal with Osteoarthritis in both knees and intermittent claudication in my right leg so walking can be a challenge at times. My main reason for posting isn't to brag about what I did but it gives me the incentive to get out and walk so I can post a positive account. Please don't feel intimidated and feel good about doing your own thing.

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement!! I feel bad for you for the osteoarthritis in the knees!!!! Osteoarthritis is what got me two new knees. Although it took awhile for me to get off my behind and use them to actually walk

Well, you certainly are familiar then with the situation. My Orthopedic Dr. says I'm not bad enough to need replacement but I have good days and some bad days. He says my case is more from inflammation than worn out joints and cortisone injection would solve the problem for now however I have been reluctant because it causes high blood sugar. Right now I just try and take the good with the bad and all we can do is just try and do our best. Keep up the good work and I believe things get better as we continue.

30 minutes high intensity interval weight training (2 different weight exercises followed by 2 minutes of fast treadmill walking times 3 sets; then switch up the exercises. Total of 2 x 3 x 3.)

I thought I was going to do a little better today, got an early start and no knee problems, but for some reason I was more tired in my leg muscles than usual. I got to 4 miles but it was work.
Thursday 9/18 walking, 4.10 miles, 10,394 steps.
