Welcome back, Joy. Have you undertaken any dietary changes to effect the lowering of your blood sugar? Exercise can do a lot, but the key factor in maintaining low blood sugar is controlling what goes into our mouths. If we continue eating carbs, our blood sugar will continue to run high, and no amount of insulin or insulin-stimulating drugs will work effectively. And after all this time, I suspect that the diamicron & trajenta have damaged your pancreas even more, so it makes even less insulin than ever. You prob'ly need a fast-acting insulin to use at mealtime, in addition to your Lantus doses.

Your introductory thread from two years ago holds all the best advice we have to offer, but if you still abide by what your dietitian & the nurse promote, good control will remain beyond your reach. You must restrict your carb intake. The LCHF way-of-eating is not harmful to your kidneys because it is not a high-protein plan. Protein consumption must be controlled - it's fats that must be increased. Good natural saturated and unsaturated fats.

These links detail the best method you could find; I hope you'll try this for a month or so and just see the difference it makes:

I didn't know that diamicron and Rajendra can damage the pancreas. If that's the a sass, why is my endo still prescribing it to me? I thought about the LHLC diet a few days ago that's why I remembered to log in here again. I know I can get a lot of helpful tips here.. But I wasn't so sure how to start. Will it increase my cholesterol? My blood pressure ? Does it include animal fats? I will go to the link you posted because I want to have a sample of what to eat to breakfast, lunch and dinner like a sample menu. Thank you so much!! And I will post again for any changes in BG after trying this.

14,000+ steps for 3 nights, 13,500 steps for a night, 12,070 steps yesterday. Got home this morning showing 3948 steps for today so far. Maybe it's slowing down. Better take advantage while I can, business will pick up when shutdown work is thru.

Only 2 nights under 10,000 steps in the last 9 nights. 6,070 from midnight last night to 6 AM this morning, and I see tonight as more than doubling that before midnight.

Still walking 2-1/2 to 3 miles and doing the leg lifts, crunches and weights at night. It's getting easier now that the weather is cooling and no more humidity
